Darius was born the second son of a second son in a minor house. He was trained as a swordsman and studied magic under house tutors. But he grew restless and set off on his own.

He found the road a hard place to live, but what dosen't kill you makes you stronger. One day in the streets of Nearlan he met a young quickling by the name of Fletch Cardling, who was a member of ROGUES, and was presuaded to join them.

As the years passed he grew in power and prestige, one day Ender was called off on a grand quest and need someone to stand in his stead, and Darius Cardren was chosen. He held the position till the day they where disbanded.

Shortly after the disbanding of the ROGUES, Darius was elected Mayor of Naerlan. During this term he iniated the building of a grand park for Naerlan. After his term he entered a semi-retirement for close to ten years, until he and his old friend, Razel Elderwood, founded Mischief for the temple of Asteri.
